Guidelines for Contributors

  1. Articles shall mainly constitute research articles related to Mizo and Mizoram. Research articles in literature, language and culture other than Mizo may also be published depending on expert evaluation.
  2. Articles must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. A declaration is required by the author confirming the paper has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  3. All articles accepted for publication shall be subjected to digital plagiarism checking through Turnitin software.
  4. Main text should be in MLA style 9th Edition format, no footnotes. References should be given at the end of the manuscript — only those cited in the text.
  5. Manuscripts should be typed in Times New Roman (12pt) for English and VNT Times (12pt) for Mizo. Send in soft copy to: mizostudies@gmail.com
  6. Manuscript word limit: 6,000 words.
  7. Articles with obvious or implied prejudice of race, religion, or color will be rejected.
  8. Being a bilingual journal, articles may be submitted in English or Mizo.
  9. Articles approved by referee will be published on payment of a publication fee. Single-author articles: ₹1,500. Multi-author articles: first author pays ₹1,500; each additional co-author pays ₹1,000.

Manuscript Format

  • Font (English): Times New Roman, 12pt
  • Font (Mizo): VNT Times, 12pt
  • Citation style: MLA 9th Edition format — no footnotes; references at end of article
  • Word limit: Maximum 6,000 words
  • Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

Publication Fee

Upon acceptance, a publication fee is payable before the article is scheduled for publication. The fee structure is as follows:

  • Single Author: ₹1,500
  • Multiple Authors: First (corresponding) author — ₹1,500; each additional co-author (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.) — ₹1,000 per author.

Payment details will be provided by the editorial office upon acceptance of the manuscript.
